Things To Do

From historic landmarks and daily life on the frontier to line dancing, games and craft brews, there’s plenty to explore at the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival.

Living History & Demonstrations

Step into the Old West with interactive camps showcasing cowboy life, historic craftsmanship, and frontier traditions. Watch blacksmiths at work, visit a chuck wagon, experience life at a cattle camp, and watch history come to life with educational portrayals of days gone by.

SCV History Center

The SCV History Center creates the perfect western backdrop for the Whistle Stop Stage, where fast-picking bluegrass fills the air. During the festival, stroll among the historic buildings a steam engine and see ongoing restoration efforts that ensure these treasured landmarks endure for generations.

Pioneer Corner with Gilchrist Farm

Experience pioneer life with hands-on activities like candle making, wool spinning, leather stamping, and gold panning. This interactive space lets you step into the shoes of early settlers and try your hand at old-time skills.

Horseshoe Honky Tonk

Stomp your boots at the Horseshoe Honkytonk with the Bootscoot Bosses Line Dance Crew leading line dancing lessons in the afternoons. As the sun sets on Saturday night of the festival, Dancing Into The Dusk keeps the momentum going with late-night line dancing and a DJ spinning the top country mixes.

Watering Hole

Take a break at The Watering Hole, a shaded hideaway where live piano tunes set the tone for a laid-back western vibe. Quench your thirst with a cold beer, crisp wine and refreshing seltzers from Lucky Luke Brewing, or stay hydrated with a free water station provided by SCV Water.

Get Hitched!

Say “I do” Western-style at the historic Ramona Chapel! Witness Cowboy Weddings throughout the day on Saturday or visit SantaClarita.gov/Weddings to plan a one-of-a-kind ceremony in this charming frontier setting. Experience the romance of the Old West in a truly unforgettable way!

The Barnyard

Home to rescued farm animals, The Barnyard offers a unique opportunity to meet and interact with various critters, from ducks and geese to pigs and alpacas. Wander through the enclosures, enjoy up-close encounters and join educational tours throughout the day that bring the farm to life.

Games & Challenges

There’s no shortage of Wild West action at the festival, from lassoing and mechanical bull riding to sharpshooting and ax throwing. Take aim and try your luck at Gold Rush Games, sponsored by Damien White Farmers Insurance, where every toss, shot, and pan full of gold brings a taste of frontier adventure.
